Ganesh Chaturthi
The temple in the fort of Ranthambore, devoted to Lord Ganesha, is the most
important Ganesha temple in the state. The temple is always abuzz with
activities. People make sure to give the first invitation card of marriage
to Lord Ganesha. The temple is a site of attraction, a place where people
offer their prayers, seek blessings from the benevolent God. Devotees flock
up at the time of festival to sing sing devotional songs and enchant
mantras.
The idol of Lord Ganesha is painted orange and people offer garlands of
marigold. The idol is heavily adorned with golden ornaments. The temple is
opened for extended duration for the devotees. The devotees observe fast and
wait for hours just to get that holy glimpse and experience the bliss of
divinity. Devotees even take a holy dip, lit diyas, incense sticks and offer
fruits and flowers to say their prayers. After the completion of Puja, the
idol of Lord is immersed in the sacred rivers (visarjan ceremony).
The pregnant markets cater to the needs of travelers. And so shopping

shopping expeditions. Thus, whole festival is
