It is a prominent pilgrimage center for Hindus located in Pushkar beyond
Nagaparvat and the
Anasagar lake. The ravishing ambiance of the place takes

The place abounds in legends and folklores. It is believed that a 'yagna'
was performed by Lord Brahma here with will all Gods and Goddesses. Another
legend holds it a lotus fell from the hands of Lord Brahma and dropped into
the this valley, thereby miraculously the ancient lake Sarovar sprung up.
Pushkar literally means Push Flower, Kar Hand. Another legend
goes like Brahma was cursed by his ex-wife that he would not be worshiped
anywhere else in the world except this place.
Beautiful Architecture
The temple is marked by a red spire. Over the entrance gate way is the hans
(the goose symbol) of Brahma. The interiors of the temple are beautifully
done. The floors and walls of the temple are engraved with dedications to
the dead. The white marbled temple is adorned with silver turtle on the
floor. The image of Brahmaji in Pushkar is in a seated Palthi position and
an image of Lord Vishnu, life sized dwarpals (door men) and Garuda pillars
(a mythical bird, in gold).
