The barren lands of
Rajasthan
may seem to be infertile but they are actually rich in wildlife. Visitors
love to see the rare and endangered species of flora and fauna preserved in
these wildlife reserves and National Parks. A haven for many birds, animals,
reptiles and mammals, these reserves are a pleasure for the tourists also.
Some of these National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries are recognized as the
World Heritage Sites.
Some of the wildlife reserves were actually hunting preserves of the mighty
monarchs of Rajasthan. Great hunting expeditions were carried out in these
parks. These preserves were undertaken by the Government of India and turned
into National Parks. Ranthambore, Kaladeo and Sariska are among a few
hunting grounds which were turned into reserves. While other parks as Desert
National Park in western Rajasthan have been specially set up for
preservation of endangered wild beasts.
The unique flora and fauna at these National Parks is a real pleasure. An
icing on the cake on Rajasthan Wildlife Tours is the options of jungle
safaris, wildlife safaris, trekking, bird
watching and boating (though in very few). You may have seek admission
permission from the concerned authorities for some of the wildlife
sanctuaries. Staying in the resorts of these parks is really thrilling when
you always feel yourself surrounded by wild animals. Who knows? They might
be keeping an eye on you. Some of the sanctuaries you must visit in
Rajasthan are Bharatpur Wildlife Sanctuary, Darrah National Park, Desert
National Park, Sariska Wildlife Reserve and Ranthambore National Park. Do
not forget your cameras and binoculars with you.
