Black Buck in Deser National ParkIt is thrill to see the wildlife can be incredibly charming, alluring and thrilling all at the same time. Jaisalmer is famous camel safari trips but the wild side of Jaisalmer is best experienced in Desert National Park which was established here in 1980. The park was established to maintain the eco system and thereby preserving the wide variety of drought resistance species that inhabit it including the most endangered godawan (Indian bustard). If you love jeep safaris and want to see the rare Great Indian bustard in the Desert National Park, then rush your jeeps to Sudashri just about 50 km southwest of Jaisalmer. The wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy a lot here. Flora and Fauna of Desert National Park
Grazing and agriculture might have dropped the number of animals here but the place holds its beauty. You can spot various species of fauna in the park. The animal kingdom of the park comprise of blackbuck, chinkara, desert fox, bengal fox, Indian wolf, desert cat, hare. If you are fond of bird spotting then look out for Blue tailed and Green bee-eaters, drongos, partridges, doves, bulbuls, common and bush quail, Indian rollers, and bird watcher's delight the Great Indian Bustard. Sparrows, imperial sand grouse, bustards, falcons, larks, demoiselle cranes, falcons, owls and eagles also migrate to the park.

Jeep Safaris: You can enjoy jungle safaris here where you can hire jeeps and visit Sudashri to have encounters with the Indian bustards.

Sand Dunes: A trip to the Sam sand dunes close by is surely not to be missed. The best places to see the dunes are Sam and Khuri.

Air: The nearest Airport to Jaisalmer is Jodhpur. 317 Km.

Rail: Jaisalmer is connected to a number of cities wit a wide range of trains.

Road: Although connected with good roads from all major cities of Rajasthan, the road journeys should be avoided here.
